Pro freeskier Sean Pettit comes at us with a new approach to ski filmmaking, we never thought that skiing could be so gangsta! Sean’s production company Superproof Inc introduce ‘The Recruitment’ an action packed, intense story driven film with a plot twist! Revolutionary? Not quite, still, it’s different to the usual and definitely worth a watch. Review below. Trailer here:
The film is shot remarkably well (thanks to the magic editing hands of Leigh Powis), the cinematography and crafty editing makes it feel like a big bugdet Hollywood action film with no surprise it won iF3’s Best Editing award. The plot of the story is based around a bad ass gangsta, Sean Pettit, who kidnaps 7 of the worlds best freeskiers, turned thugs after falling off the ski scene due to Sponsorship cuts. Sean has a plan to bring them back and with extreme force. Trade in the skis for motorbikes and you have Jax Teller and the boys from ‘Son’s Of Anarchy’. Fresh back from injury, Sean Pettit’s ski section wasn’t as strong as we’d hoped but the other ‘Recruitments’ hold it down well with the likes of Max Hill, Joe Schuster, and ski movie legend Corey Vanular to an already stacked lineup of Superproof skiers—namely brother Callum Pettit, Mike Henituk, Josh Stack, and Leigh Powis. The boys go huge with a good mix of urban, back country and deep pow fun. Let the recruiting begin! Watch Film of The Week ‘The Recruitment’ now on Garage Entertainment:
