Which Of These 5 Pros Have The Best Backyard Skatepark?

If you’re a skater, chances are you’ve dreamt of owning a backyard skatepark. And unfortunately for most of us, dreaming is as close as we’ll ever get to having one. Some, however are lucky enough to make this dream a reality.

There are some insane ones out there, so we thought we’d feature our top 5 favourite backyard skateparks from around the world to serve as a bit of motivation for eventually building one of your own.

Tony Hawk

Being the world’s most famous skateboarder, having a backyard skatepark is almost an obligation. Situated by his huge mansion, overlooking San Diego, Tony Hawk’s park is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious on this list.

Bob Burnquist

This has to be one of the most recognisable backyard skateparks, and it’s easy to see why. Bob Burnquist has various ramps situated on his acreage property in Vista, California, however the best by far is his mega ramp.

Kevin Kowalski

Kevin may not be as well known to some as Hawk or Burnquist, but his backyard park is just as epic. Located in Oregon, he’s built this park with the help of some friends over time, evolving it into one of the most epic transition parks we’ve seen.

Pedro Barros

For those unfamiliar with the name, Pedro Barros is a Brazilian who’s taken the skate world by storm over the last couple of years. He likes to skate the biggest ramps out there, and his backyard bowl goes to show it. Located in his home town of Florianopolis, this backyard setup is as picturesque as it gets.

Shane O’Neill

We’ve mainly featured transition parks, so we thought we’d finish up with some street. When Australian skater Shane O’Neill bought his first home in the U.S, he built a skatepark in his backyard which, by the looks of it is about twice the size of his house. Priorities, right? As a street skater, I’d have to say this is my favourite of all the parks on this list.
