Each year 500 motocross riders come together in Erzberg, Austria for the Red Bull Hare Scramble. In a nutshell, this race involves literally ‘scrambling’ out of a huge quarry filled with numerous obstacles such as near-vertical slopes, stacks of boulders, and in this past year’s case – lots of mud. The course takes a gruelling 4 hours to complete, however most riders are lucky to make it past the first 500 yards. Although ultimately a fun event, people take the Hare Scramble very seriously.
