One Shot features internationally renowned surf photographer Russell Ord, who has built a reputation for capturing incredible images of surfers on massive waves. Russell is a man on a quest – seeking one perfect shot.
‘This swell was just four days straight, like in the 20ft range and the winds were good. And the first two days I got really good shots but it was so big and I kind of couldn’t get into the zone. The current was so strong that day, so much water moving off the reef. One minute you’re so far on the shoulder you might as well be in the jetski. And then five seconds later I’m in the impact zone swimming under bombs.’
