Surfing is linked to nature more than any other sport. Surfers rely on nature to do what they love, so unsurprisingly they are directly connected to the earth. However, a majority of materials used to produce surf products are environmentally toxic.
Manufacturing Stoke takes a look at the often overlooked impact the surf industry has on the environment and what members of the community are doing to make a positive change. A plethora of grass-roots up-and-comers are redefining what a surfer is supposed to ride. From wooden surfboards, hand-planes and alaias to recycled blanks and organic clothing, wave riding is taking on a new soul.
Directed by Michael Zavanagh, Manufacturing Stoke is an eye opener which, by the end will have you wanting to get involved in the movement yourself.
