The 80’s, what a time to be alive, you could basically do and wear what you liked, fluro yellow shorts, fluro pink shirts, Reebok pumps and colour reflector shades (preferably Oakley) was all you had in your wardrobe, ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ was the greatest movie you’d ever seen, next to ‘Back To The Future’, Pacman was revolutionary sh*t, your Sony Walkman made you the cool kid on the block and neon wetsuits polluted line ups.
And some things weren’t so epic, like the Ripping The Pit music video, a retro pop song starring some of the biggest names in bodyboarding, a cringeworthy time for bodyboarders everywhere.
The video has now resurfaced in Garage Film Of The Week, Holding On – a tell-all documentary on the history of bodyboarding, the excerpt of the film features some of the stars of the video reflecting on this embarrassing time for the sport.
We have to admit, it’s kinda catchy.
