Reunion is a French Island situated in the Indian Ocean. It’s known for its rainforests, beaches, Creole culture, and volcanic interior. The volcanic landscapes make Reunion a climbers paradise, however much of the islands huge rocky structures have not yet been tackled. From Japan, Italy, England, France, and America, five climbers from each corner of the earth; Sam Elias, James Pearson, Caroline Ciavaldini, Jacopo Larcher, and Yuji Hirayama, attempt to open a new multi-pitch route on the Basalt Island of Reunion.
First seen as quite do-able considering the groups combined experience, the task turns out to be far more complicated than first imagined. Encountering various challenges along the way, such as having to dodge large chunks of rock falling as they ascend the volcano, the group are pushed to their limits.
