It’s funny how – despite the popularity and performance of modern day surfboard technology – we’re seeing more people turn to simpler forms of surfing. Longboards, alaia’s, and even hand planes are seeing somewhat of a resurrection. But perhaps the most recent, and interesting addition to the list is the finless surfboard.
If there’s one person responsible for this comeback it would be Derek Hynd. The Australian surfer is well known for pioneering finless surfing, and in the following video from the movie A Deeper Shade of Blue you’ll see he’s mastered the craft.
