Over the last couple of years, Levi’s have been building a number of DIY skateparks in various underprivileged parts of the world such as Bangalore in India, and La Paz in Bolivia. The aim of these skateparks is to give these communities a chance to skateboard and hopefully create a culture for the youth.
They have just finished up another project, this time in Pine Ridge of South Dakota, an area predominately occupied by indigenous North Americans. The community there faces a number of social and cultural problems, especially among the youth. Check out the following video that chronicles the build of the park and the life of the youth in Pine Ridge. With an amazing story, and cinematography, this clip is sure to inspire.
