Getting caught in an avalanche is every skiers worst nightmare, which unfortunately became a reality for Daron Rahlves while filming for the ski film “Down Days”. Almost right after he starts his run at the peak, the snow pops out, sweeping Daron up and carrying him pretty much all the way down the mountain. When you get caught up in a slab of snow that big there’s literally nothing you can do, and as Daron explains, “you’re at the mercy of mother nature”. Luckily when the avalanche stopped he wasn’t far from the surface and was able to dig his way out.
